God often speaks to me around the time of my birthday and in the New Year. He whispers to me about His thoughts and plans and often gives me a theme or a focus for the year.

Now, I actively seek His voice at those times and He has been so gracious and faithful again to me this year.

God gave me a word for the year and it was selective. It means a great deal to me I have received a confirmation about the word from someone who knows me well.

Perhaps the Lord has given you a word for the year – a  theme or a concept or an idea on which to draw your energy from as the year progresses. A word to help you, to inform your actions and to keep your heart and your eyes firmly fixed on Him.

Or maybe you don’t have a word from the Lord yet. Well, ask Him. Seek Him in prayer for the word that He has for you.

In Jeremiah 33:3, we have a promise from God that we will receive  –  ask Him and see what the Lord will do.

Call unto Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and hidden things that you do not know.
