The key Scripture for healing is Isaiah 53:4-5 which describes Jesus Christ on the cross taking our sicknesses upon Himself. “By His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5.)
There are several things that can prevent us from receiving our healing including:
If we do not put God first in our lives.
If our relationship with our parents is not good or has not been good in the past. The Bible requires us to honour and forgive our mother and father so that the curses of previous generations shall not come upon us.
We must forgive everybody otherwise God will not forgive us. Jesus died a brutal bloody death on the cross to forgive us of our sins therefore we must forgive others.
We must have faith in God.
Jesus said, “Have faith in God.” “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says.
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:23-24.)
Diet and exercise is also important. The Bible encourages us to discipline our body and bring it into subjection. (1 Corinthians 9:27.)
The Bible tells us to call the elders of the church and let them pray over us anointing us with oil in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We should confess our sins to one another that we may be healed. (James 5:14-16.)
Jesus himself prayed for thousands of people and gave us the example of how we should pray for others believing for their healing. Jesus said that as we lay hands on the sick they shall recover. He has given us this authority and to pray for the sick believing for them to be healed. (Mark 16:18.)
“Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I search my heart and confess my sins especially (name any sins). I believe that You hear my prayer and that my sins are now forgiven. I ask for Your mighty healing power to come upon me. I receive it now. Thank you Father in Jesus name, Amen.
