God wants to pour out His blessings on His people. We can receive more of God's blessings by focusing on God and having a thankful heart. When we experience the Holy Spirit's blessing we will have more love for Jesus, be empowered for service and have a renewed commitment to the Lord.

GOD’S BLESSING FOR TODAY

by Pat Subritzky

Part I

God’s Blessing Explained

1.         WHAT IS IT?

A further out-pouring of God’s Spirit, more anointing, refreshing, release, power, reality of the presence of God.

2.         IS IT SCRIPTURAL?

Refreshing  (Acts 3:19)

Weeping  (Ezra 10:1)

Trembling/shaking  (Psalm 119:120)

Worship, trembling  (Psalm 2:11)

Trembling  (1 Corinthians 2:3)

Drunk/trance-like  (Acts 2:13)

Convulsions  (Mark 1:25-26)

Laughter  (Psalm 2:4)

Statements people make:

If it was God:

I would understand  (Matthew 21:21)

I wouldn’t be afraid  (John 18:6)

There would be no division  (Luke 12:51-53)

He would never force anything upon me  (Job 2:6-7;  Acts 9:3-5)

He would not do it publicly  (Acts 2:1-12)

3.         WHERE DID IT ORIGINATE?

God began to pour out His Spirit in a new way in various parts of the world.

4.         HOW DO WE GET IT?

“Do you want more of God?”

To Receive

(a)       Tune out.

(b)       Let go of control.

(c)        Stop being a spectator.

(d)       Yield to the feelings.

(e)       Be thankful to God

5.         IS IT FOR THE CHURCH?

Churches are being renewed and revitalised.

“And the revival that began in 1994 shows no signs of waning.”

6.         CAN WE EXPECT CHANGES?

It is a life-changing experience.

(a)       A prevailing sense of joy.

(b)       An intensified love for Jesus.

(c)        Healing physically and emotionally.

(d)       Discernment in areas of service and empowering.

(e)       Backslidden Christians renewing their commitment.

(f)        Bringing to salvation.

(g)       Setting the oppressed free.

(h)       He will give us fresh visions and messages of prophecy.

7.         INTIMACY WITH GOD

As never before the desire to worship God is foremost.

Intimacy is based on humility, vulnerability and trust.

8.         WHAT ABOUT MUSIC?

With this new move of the Holy Spirit has come a deeper sense of worship.

9.         ONGOING RESULTS

Steps to follow:

(a)       Know the relative Scriptures and be able to quote them.

(b)       Today we need the fire of God.

(c)        Be aware of apathy and ignorance.

(d)       We need to care and be informed.

(e)       Cultivate daily intimacy with God.

(f)        Intercessory prayer.

(g)       Be willing to pay the price.

(h)       Keep our minds active.  Use discernment.  Study the Scripture.  Don’t stop thinking and talking about what is happening.

(i)         Stay humble.  It is not a one-man ministry.  One person is no more spiritual than another person God is touching.

(j)         Stay honest.

(k)        Believe what is happening and witness to it.

(l)         Pass on the blessing.  God blesses for a purpose.  Use the blessing you have been given to bless others.

Be willing to do anything the Lord tells us to do.

Cultivate humility.

Those who find it difficult to receive need help and encouragement.

Points to consider:

1.         Receive by faith - it is a gift from God.

2.         Fear will prevent receiving.  Blocks freedom to receive the anointing.

Self-control

Shell around the heart

Only the Holy Spirit can change heart attitudes.

Humble

Be prepared to be like a little child with trust and simplicity.

Turn away from all hindrances and be willing to be vulnerable.
